Ashley is one of the bubblier characters amongst the survivors at least until the bodies start piling up and her will-they-wont-they romantic involvement with Chris is one of the focal subplots in the game. Unless your heart is made of icy stone, youll be rooting for the two of them to make it out together. However, it turns out that Ashley tends to harbour grudges even when she and her friends are being ruthlessly hunted by an unfeeling murder machine. Midway through the game, Ash and Chris find themselves the victim of a twisted trap version of Russian roulette, in which Chris must choose between himself and Ashley. Should he choose to shoot her, even though the gun isnt primed, she will not forget what he was going to do. This proves fatal for Chris later on, as he flees towards the lodge with a Wendigo in pursuit. Pounding on the front door, he pleads with Ashley to let him in to safety, which is quite clearly the correct and sensible thing to do. Ashley doesnt forget, though and she cruelly, coldly watches on, deliberately doing nothing, as the Wendigo catches up and rips off his head, while the collective player throws the controller at her in frustration. Good luck trying to repair that relationship.
