Jess is another character who doesnt see a lot of playtime once things start to get serious mostly because shes either dead or unconscious for half the night. Her abduction is the first real action after the introduction pretty much everything up until then is a red herring or a false flag. In fact, youre so used to the tricks that even though its obvious that something is going to happen, you just dismiss it as another prank. Its only as shes dragged kicking and screaming through the window that you realise Oh hell, this is actually a real problem, which is why it comes as such a big surprise. At this point in the game, theres been no indication of whats actually out there on the mountain, either. As far as you know, theres some kind of crazy axe-wielding psycho murderer out there waiting to pick everybody off one by one one that also happens to be insanely strong. Jess being abducted marks the point in the game where the wheels fall off the happy camping trip and it leaves you really hoping not to meet whatever took her away.
