The Walking Dead Game Season 2: 5 Reasons Why It's Still Great
3. It's Still The Same Universe
My previous point does not imply that I want everything to change with a new season, I am actually quite the fan of maintaining continuity. However, I do enjoy the fresh perspective taken within this sequel/continuation accompanied by the game's ability to provide both that as well as tie ins to the established universe of The Walking Dead. In Season 1, we had things such as the appearance of Hershel and Glenn. In 400 Days, we had many self-crossovers, with characters appearing from one short story to the next (as well as some smaller things the likes of which you could have missed out on all together depending on the choices you made, such as the corpse of Doug/Carley). In this season, we have Clementine, the brief appearances of Christa and Omid, the 400 Days pitstop, the corpse of Roman (a character from 400 Days) and a strong implication that one of the more complex and layered characters already familiar to us and thought to be dead would appear. What other familiarities will embrace our screens once the rest of the season rolls around? Well, we'll have to wait and see.
