Watch Dogs: 10 Reasons It Might Disappoint

6. Multiplayer Woes

Watch Dogs Multiplayer

Did you see the multiplayer reveal of Watch Dogs? It looks unique and - dare I say it - had a touch of the Dark Souls doucheyness about it where you sneak up on unsuspecting victims and strike them down with great vengeance.

But in reality, how often have we been subjected to tacked-on multiplayer just for the hell of it? Tomb Raider, a beautifully realised new take on Lara Croft, had a multiplayer component that was totally and utterly pointless. It was just there, lingering in the background and just begging for attention, as an obligatory addition.

For most, it was ignored. At best, it was played for a couple of games and then dismissed. Multiplayer is a bit of a double-edged blade like that; when it's done well and important it's good, but when it's tacked on and unnecessary, it's just bad.

Watch Dogs' multiplayer needs to be engaging, interesting and give players a reason to actually invest time in it. If not, this is just wasted resources that could have made the single player experience better.
