What GTA 6 MUST Learn From GTA 5
7. Trevor Isn't Necessary
Right, slight rude awakening here.
The world has changed incredibly since GTA 5 launched way back in 2013. As much as those cheeky scamps at Rockstar love stirring up some controversy in the mainstream media by causing politicians to have coronaries on the spot, they've also got some responsibilities.
6's story doesn't need a character like Trevor from GTA 5. Sorry, but it doesn't. His cutscenes often relied on shocks for the sake of it, and that's not nearly as interesting as any stunning moments which add depth the characters around your protagonist or those that furnish the overall story.
Dan Houser's exit stage left may open up new possibilities for Grand Theft Auto. It's hardly about to grow up overnight, but maybe the producers should leave scene-causing stunts like that torture sequence on the cutting room floor. The game, if properly-realised, won't need such shocks-for-the-sake-of-it storytelling.
