In a surprising revelation, Nintendo has announced an HD remake of Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Though its graphical style turned many fans off, the 9th game in the Legend of Zelda series is counted by many as one of the best of the last decade. The game, according to series directer Hironobu Sakaguchi, is meant to make the wait between now and the next original Zelda title a bit easier. Why It's Exciting... Many people will be eager to re-traverse the updated world, while others will have the chance to explore it for the first time. The Great Sea is covered with secrets that you can only find by exploring it thoroughly, and from the looks of it there may be even more added for the remake. The original game made great leaps in the streamlining of the gameplay experience over its predecessors, as will this version. The ability to switch items on the game-pad screen rather than having to pause the game is a feature that we have all been waiting for since the device was first shown. The map, a central element of the game, should also be available at any time on the touch screen. Wind Waker HD seems to be headed for a release this holiday season.
