1. Untitled Monolith Soft Project
The last game on this list is a bit of a mystery. Designed by Monolith Soft, a first-party Nintendo developer, the game promises to be a massive and epic undertaking. The team's last game, Xenoblade Chronicles, had some difficulty making its way out of Japan, but hopefully the new project will be released in Western markets from the very start. This project could very well be a good while off, but it's definitely one to keep an eye on.
Why It's Exciting... The untitled new game may be a sequel to its critically acclaimed predecessor, or it might just have a similar battle system. Either way, the game looks beautiful; the visuals shown off in the trailer are simply breathtaking, as is the soundtrack compliments of Hiroyuki Sawano. Graphics aside though, this game has a lot to offer. Big weapons? Check. Hulking monsters? Check. Flying robot suits? Check. Monolith's new project is shaping up to be an epic adventure to remember; hopefully we'll hear more about it during E3 or the Tokyo Game Show this year. If all goes well, Nintendo will have learned from their experience with Xenoblade Chronicles and release this game outside of Japan from the start. Check out the trailer
