The Witcher 2: 15 Reasons It's A Hidden Masterpiece You've Ignored

7. Replay Value

A video game can have replay value for a variety of reasons, but rarely do you find one where it requires you to play twice in order to experience everything it has to offer. The Witcher 2 is one such game, and as mentioned earlier, this comes from the decision making system that actually changes the entire middle portion of the game. Large scale choices like this are peppered throughout the game, and they actually change significant details of the story. It€™s not just main quests that require replaying; even minor side quests have various paths that lead to multiple outcomes. Given how interesting and enjoyable these side quests are, you most likely will want to play them again just to see how else you can go about achieving success. Some quests even only become available upon meeting certain circumstances. There is just so much diversity to doing a wide array of activities. The game would be huge even without so much player agency, and it is all the more jaw-dropping because of it. So basically, if you want to see and do everything in The Witcher 2, be prepared to devote at least 50 hours across two complete playthroughs.
