WWE '13: 10 Things THQ Needs To Fix

2. Outdated Graphics

One of those issues that just doesn't seem acceptable is the relatively sub-par graphics of the WWE games, all the more so because the actual presentational aspects are very faithful to the WWE brand. Ever since THQ took over, the visuals have trailed the pack as far as sports games go; observing the above screenshot as evidence - does it really look like a game being released near the end of the current generation? It could easily pass for something released during the Xbox 360 or PS3's early lives, lacking detail, and perhaps most problematically, giving the wrestlers a lifeless, marionette-like look. This is where taking another year would be useful, but at the same time, the WWE games don't exactly have a massive budget, so it's unlikely we're ever going to get visuals that push the boundaries of the console on which they are released. It's a shame, as these games are so on the ball in trying to replicate the look and feel of the WWE otherwise.
