WWE 13 Hands On Review: 10 Reasons Why It's Awesome

3. Character Models

Improved character models are something that I€™d have expected in a sequel regardless, but the degree to which they€™ve been improved seems to me to be greater than in any of their previous titles€™ jumps. I was only able to closely scrutinize a handful of the superstars on offer in the final roster but those I did see looked about as close to their real life counterparts than I€™ve ever seen them get. It€™s in the details; the imperfections. Mankind€™s arms for example, are pockmarked from tack scars, they're scarred and blotchy with a faint marblesque pattern from where he sustained burns earlier in his career. It€™s the little subtleties like this that made me note just how much effort Yuke€™s have put in to recreating a realistic WWE experience. Out of everyone, I played with Foley, Austin, The Undertaker and €“ I just couldn€™t resist €“ Mike Tyson, who yes is fully playable and has a range of classic manoeuvres as well as some special emphasis on his ability as a boxer. Everyone is a near perfect likeness and thanks to that, for a brief moment anyway, I could pretend I was a kid again.
