WWE 2K16 Hands-On Impressions: 12 Things You Need To Know
11. Definitely No Horsewomen
The engorged roster makes it even more disappointing that not one of the Four Horsewomen have made it into the game. The white-hot female prospects of NXT - Charlotte, Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks, Bayley - have been snubbed in their entirety, despite Sasha Banks claiming to have been scanned for the game. https://twitter.com/sashabankswwe/status/570723349791449088 At the event we caught up with 2K Head of Marketing, Bryce Yang for an interview and when asked why four of biggest up-and-comers in the industry, regardless of gender, had been excluded from the game, he responded:
The roster obviously is always a hot topic. We would have loved to be able to incorporate them into the game. You could say that Sasha Banks and Bayley had the best match in the WWE this whole year. But, they weren't part of the main roster until fairly recently and these characters take a very, very long time to create. It's not just how they look, you've got to mo-cap their moves, there's a whole slew of things that go into making a character. We would have loved to have included them this year, but just couldn't do it.
While it's true that the amount of mo-capped moves for women was likely much lower for men in this instalment of the game, and would require more work to make than a male character model, it's a shame that some NXT stars, who haven't even made it to the main roster now, like Baron Corbin or Enzo Amore, have been included but not so the revolutionary women. Ah well.
