Casket matches are a rarity, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't be able to play them whenever you choose in a WWE video game! Like a number of the other modes here, getting your opponent into a casket is likely to come down to more button mashing or quick time events, but it would still be pretty cool to add this mode to 2K17, especially if next year's instalment focuses on The Undertaker's best non-Mania moments. Regardless of that though, Casket matches have the potential to be a really fun experience, especially as the challenge is obviously to first get someone into the casket and then to close the damn thing. If that's made a big part of how this match plays out, then it would obviously differentiate it from some of the other potential modes I've mentioned here. The focus would really need to be on this two stage process to make it more than just a pointless or easily won gimmick, and if handled the right way, winning one of these would no doubt feel like a real achievement on the part of gamers. Certain wrestlers having an advantage going into these (Kane and The Undertaker having "OMG!" moments which mean they can Chokeslam their opponent into the casket for example) could also be interesting, especially if smaller guys have a bigger chance of getting out of before it can close. The point is, this mode could seamlessly blend the realism 2K Games are striving for with some arcade like fun.
