2. William Regal

William Regal's stock has never been higher. A decades-long veteran of the sport, Regal battled his own personal demons to come back and become one of the most respected individuals in the sport. He may never have received the major world title run that many felt he deserved, but he can look back on his career with a lot of pride.

The strange thing is that Regal arguably has provided more value to World Wrestling Entertainment outside of the ring than he ever did inside of it. Regal currently works as a trainer and talent scout for the company and is one of the men responsible for the influx of independent talent that has invaded WWE over the last few years.

So with Regal's value to the company at its highest point, why has he not been announced as part of the WWE 2K17 roster? The Ringleader of the Tormentors is one of the few veterans who could probably still put on a clinic inside the ring, along with fellow absentee Finlay.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
