WWE 2K17 Roster: 10 Surprising Omissions

1. Eddie Guerrero

The story of Eddie Guerrero may very well be the most 'professional wrestling' story of them all.

Guerrero was surrounded by the sport from the earliest age and worked hard at his craft to maximise the natural talent he had. This led to him getting caught up in some of the more negative aspects of the business and making friends with rock bottom in the process.

But wrestling is the story of good overcoming evil, and Latino Heat defeated his demons and rose to the highest highs in wrestling. In 2004 Guerrero defeated Brock Lesnar to become the WWE Champion and found himself on top of the world, the ultimate feel-good champion. Tragedy would strike in the following year, as Guerrero was found dead in his hotel room. Eddie had defeated his demons, but his body could hold out no longer.

Surely WWE 2K17 isn't going to hit the shelves without the option to play as Eddie Guerrero? It can't, and it most likely won't. Even so, Guerrero is missing from the initial roster reveal and is surely the most surprising absentee.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
