Right now, playing WWE 2K17 online is a buggy mess that just doesn't feel fun. Doesn't that ruin the entire purpose of matching up against others on the internet? Shouldn't the online modes be a shining example of what wrestling video games are all about?

Pushing the idea of community is clearly important to 2K, which is why the developers have put so much focus on 'Community Creations' and the customisation of 2K17 for each individual player. That's all sorely lacking when it comes to the online portion of the game, because even setting up the most basic of matches takes way too long.

2K need to shift gears here and make online play something that rewards the player rather than punishing them for wanting to connect with others around the world.

Wrestling is a universal language, the kind of industry that brings people together in the same geeky fashion as music or TV shows. Therefore, it's vital that 2K start to give those who wish to play online something to sink their teeth into.

Why not offer online-exclusive unlockables, just as one example, or a defined mode pitting wrestlers from one generation against those from another?
