WWE 2K18: 10 Most Wanted New Features

4. Fully-Fleshed Story Mode

Whilst it is nice to have the Career Mode that 2K17 offers, it's hard to shake the feeling that the feature is lacking something to really help it become essential. Even with 2K's attempts to add more story context to the mode, slowly ploughing through a career still feels lifeless and dull.

No story-based mode WWE video games have offered since has come close to the one featured in Here Comes The Pain. That game was released on the PS2 in 2003, a clear sign that focus has been elsewhere for the past 14 years.

WWE 2K18 is crying out for a Story Mode to rival Here Comes The Pain, that game just got so much right.

Firstly, being able to pick from any wrestler on the active roster is appealing; in recent years, the developers have forced players to create their own bargain-bin superstar, taking away the novelty and excitement of playing through a story as one of their favourites.

The new promo engine found in 2K17 could be valuable if 2K condense the endless slog of repetitive matches into something a bit tighter that reflects what people can see on real-life programming.
