2K Sports have already confirmed several new features for WWE 2K18, though details are sketchy on a new 'Road To Glory' Mode that could help bring back that Superstar-driven story experience 2K17 was missing. There's always MyCareer, but that just isn't satisfying enough. It's about time 2K got their finger out and brought back the old Showcase Mode.

Remember how much fun it was to relive Steve Austin's brilliant career in 2K16? How about flashing through rivalries like John Cena vs. CM Punk and Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels the year before in 2K15? When Showcases popped up as part of the feature set, they became instant hits, so it's bewildering that the developers removed them entirely.

2K are missing a trick here, because there's so much more they could be doing to make WWE games playable. The days of wrestling titles being released without any story mode allowing gamers to play as their heroes should have ended with the 16-bit consoles.

The possibilities are endless...
