WWE 2K18: 10 Things It Can Learn From Past Games

3. Shut Your Mouth's Draft Must Make A Return

Shut Your Mouth remains one of the most exciting WWE games ever released on PlayStation. It was arguably the first wrestling title on Sony machines that could match up to those excellent releases on N64 like No Mercy, WCW/nWo Revenge and WrestleMania 2000. Part of that success came due to an amazing Story Mode.

Right away, players were told they'd have to pick separate rosters for Raw and SmackDown during the WWE Draft. Of course, the Draft made a comeback in real life last Summer, so it's logical that it'll be included in 2K18. If so, 2K have to follow THQ's template from 2002 and let gamers make their own roster choices.

Being able to completely customise how the forthcoming Story Mode played out was a real selling point for Shut Your Mouth. Let's hope 2K don't just use WWE's real-life Draft picks and force players to deal with it. That customisation is key to ensuring any Draft feature goes down a treat.
