Tournaments are a big part of WWE’s annual schedule these days. We’ve already seen the Cruiserweight Classic and UK Championship tourneys, and the Mae Young Classic is set to kick-off next months. The speculation has cooled lately, but there was previously talk of a second CWC, and further localised tournaments in Japan and Latin America as WWE continue to expand and diversify their product range.

Being able to recreate these tournaments in 2K (along with classic competitions like King Of The Ring) would be a great new feature, and a unique way to play the game. It’d mean adding a host of new playable characters to the series, and the CWC’s use of free agents would make things tricky, but with a few small compromises, there’s no reason the developers can’t add these tourneys to the games.

Better yet, the ability to create customised tournaments complete with unique branding, venues, themes, and talent line-ups would bring a whole new level of customisation to the game. Big wrestling tourneys are all the rage at the moment, which makes cashing-in on the spike in demand feel like a no brainer.
