WWE 2K18: 7 New Features You Need To Know
4. The Royal Rumble Is Getting An Overhaul (And So Are Multi-Man Matches)
Speaking of the Rumble, it's top of 2K's list for an overhaul this year, and it's about bloody time. The 30-man matches in 2K17 were fun and did sell the difficulty of lasting from #1 until #30, but there didn't feel like enough ways to eliminate opponents that kept things fresh.
In 2K18 though, the developers will be adding different elimination mechanics and animations, plus a brand new 'quick elimination' idea that enables players to catch others by surprise. That sounds promising, and the same can be said for the new 8-man matches; now, Rumbles will see up to 8 wrestlers in the ring at once, as opposed to the old cap of 6.
That extends to Ladder Matches, 8-Man Tags and Battle Royal bouts too, which is pretty exciting. With the processing power of consoles like PS4 and Xbox One, this should have been possible years ago. Better late than never, we guess.
