WWE 2K18: 7 New Gameplay Tweaks You Need To Know
6. Cancelled Pins Can Now Look Like Kick Outs
Perhaps we're alone in doing this, but there's a certain joy that comes from playing along with the ebb and flow of a wrestling match in WWE video games. Yes, the objective is to win, but what's the harm in having a little fun along the way? Beating everyone in the game within seconds every time even on the hardest difficulty wouldn't represent real-life wrestling.
Beforehand, intentionally causing near falls during matches posed a problem. Cancelled pins had your wrestler visibly lifting an opponent's head up off the mat or simply standing up. It looked false, so it's nice to see 2K add in the ability to make cancelled pin attempts look like CPU kick outs.
Now, when pressing L1/LB to cancel your pin, pushing in any direction at the same time makes the CPU kick out of the near fall. It looks much better and is a long overdue tweak to the gameplay. 2K's own match rating system demands drama, and this feeds into that idea.
