WWE 2K18: 7 Things You Can Learn From The Game’s First Footage

4. Some Characters Still Have 'Dead Eyes'

Another disappointment is that 2K18's models have a tendency to look like they've been plucked straight from the local morgue, at least facially. A big part of wrestling is selling, so this is a bit disheartening. 2K can't expect players to really feel the pain of their chosen superstars if they look like they're constantly staring into space.

This 'dead eye' problem has been prevalent for years now, and it should be sorted by 2017. Look at the emotion in character faces over in other games like Uncharted 4 or even 2015's Rise Of The Tomb Raider; if Lara Croft can sell danger via dilating pupils, then so should John Cena. This is like a throwback to Cena's old Prototype gimmick. He looks like a robot.

From afar, this isn't much of an issue. We'll give 2K Games that, because much of 2K18's action will be viewed from a distance. Close up, eyes and hair combine to remove you from the experience, which could be a problem during replays or in slow motion.
