WWE 2K18 Early Reviews: 10 Things We Learned
3. Glitchy Environmental Interaction Remains A Problem
Speaking of the Elimination Chamber, the popular match type could be hampered by those niggling glitches that make it hard for players to suspend their disbelief. When John Cena clips through the chamber glass or Randy Orton's hand goes through the ropes, it kinda' shatters the illusion.
Weapons look much higher-res this year, but what good is that when the same clipping issues from years ago are still weighing things down? When we Irish Whip someone into the steel steps at ringside, we don't want them to run in the same spot for a few seconds before connecting. That just doesn't look real, and it hits home during these moments that you're playing a video game.
2K need to start sorting out these glitches when it comes to environmental interaction. WWE matches should be a sandbox of fun for gamers, not a buggy mess that glitches up when they try to do something cool and deviate from the ring.
