WWE 2K18 Early Reviews: 10 Things We Learned
2. One-On-One Matches Feature A Zoomed In Camera
'Camera Cuts' have been part of WWE video games for years. You know the ones, those flashy angles that zoom in on the action to catch a big Neckbreaker or finishing move. In 2K18, singles matches take you deeper inside the ring than ever before, and it's quite a noticeable change during the first few matches.
It's only in one-on-one matches that this happens, for obvious reasons. 2K enjoy showing everybody on screen at once, which is why tag matches and other multi-person affairs retain the old hard cam view point. This only makes singles bouts more enjoyable though, because it at times feels like there's a camera man perched up on the ring apron.
Being able to choose your own camera angle is the next logical step for the series. Remember that unique angle from the first few SmackDown titles which showed the entrance set during matches? That was awesome. Although not true-to-life, it's the kind of customisation fans of the series would enjoy.
This zoomed in angle is a start.
