WWE 2K18 Universe Mode: 6 Things You Need To Know
4. A Rehauled Scheduling System
2K note that altering their game to fit with WWE's revived brand split was one of their biggest challenges last year. Vince McMahon's promotion brought the concept back last July, giving the developers just three months to attempt to create separation in 2K17. It wasn't possible, and 2K decided against its inclusion at launch, but that will change with 2K18.
Figuring out how to implement multiple pay-per-views in a single month was the biggest issue, but 2K have solved this problem. They've completely overhauled the back end, creating a system that allows for increased flexibility, and a much stronger sense of separation between Raw and SmackDown.
2K note that their old system had trouble dealing with irregular PPV dates, particularly when it came to rivalries stopping and starting. Feuds and storylines will now progress regardless of when they kick off or when the next PPV takes place, which should help make them feel less rigid. They promise that the re-worked story system will offer greater freedom and fluidity than ever before, though their lack of specific details means this is best taken with a pinch of salt.
