WWE 2K18 Universe Mode: 6 Things You Need To Know

3. Power Rankings

Power rankings have featured in WWE games before, and they're back for 2K18, featuring exclusively in Universe mode.

As you'd expect, the rankings will form a comprehensive pound-for-pound list of the most successful wrestlers in the game at any given time. 2K's explanation is straightforward, stating that power rankings are "useful for finding out who's the best Superstar in all of [the] Universe," but there isn't more much you can say about such a system.

Wrestlers climb the ladder by winning big matches, capturing titles, and beating rivals in feuds and stories. Failure in each of these categories will presumably see them slip down the table.

2K give the impression that they want to create a clear hierarchy system in Universe, with "some Superstars pushing past their limits to go on an unstoppable run," along with "underdogs fighting their way up to the very top to win championship gold." Winning runs will be rewarded through temporary stats boosts for players who reach certain levels, allowing lower rated wrestlers to compete with those higher up the food chain.
