WWE 2K18: What The Reviews Are Saying
7. There's Greater Variety In The Crowd
At least 2K spent some time improving the variation of character models in the live crowds. This year, you won't be seeing the same faces stuck in the same animation cycles as someone 3 seats to their right. That's progress, and it means matches look a little less generic as a result.
Crowds still don't act like real audiences, but it's a stretch to ask 2K for people in the front row who don't constantly jump up and down waving their arms. 2K's job is to make WWE's product look like a thrill ride, remember? If only we could tweak how audiences react, that'd be perfect. Fans only jumping around when they have something to get excited about would be a step forward, for example.
For what it is, 2K18's audience is an improvement over past games. People actually wear different clothing, don't all move at once and the 'paint by numbers' canvas feel to the older titles has been replaced with a crowd that feels more organic.
