WWE 2K18: What The Reviews Are Saying
6. Promos Are Improved (But Still Weak)
Years could pass before 2K are able to add a full suite of voices to the promo system. If the developers can't pin down WWE's commentary team for long enough, then there's no chance of getting hands on every WWE star featured in the game. That kind of thing is wish list material and hardly realistic.
Credit must go to 2K then for making the best of a bad situation and working to improve the promos in this year's game. There's a more well-rounded feel to each in-ring segment now, with more choices of things to say and a more forgiving 'Promo Performance' bar that doesn't punish you at every turn.
Promos overall are still fairly weak, but they're getting better. By WWE 2K20, maybe we'll even see some voices of the bigger stars sneak in there. Nobody is expecting Neville to have a ton of lines, but it's odd to watch John Cena's mouth move without anything coming out.
