WWE 2K18 Wishlist: 11 Things It Must Include
9. Catchphrases
A new addition for WWE 2K17 is an engine that lets users cut promos. While it takes a bit of getting used to and is still far from perfect (it's hard to know which choices will make the character act like a babyface and which will make him act like a heel), it adds an extra dimension to the gameplay and, overall, makes you feel more like you're really playing a pro wrestling game.
Unfortunately, the promo system is very rudimentary at this point, with absolutely no personalization. At the very beginning of the career mode, your character is put into a promo duel with Enzo Amore, who - to put it mildly - is one of the more innovative talkers in WWE. His promo, however, is completely generic, with absolutely nothing making it seem like it's coming from Enzo. Once the player's character gets to the roster and starts feuding with other stars, the promos are still uniform.
For 2K18, Yuke's should put a bit of work into tying specific words or phrases to specific wrestlers (and giving the user the option to do it with a created character). It's a little bit of individualization that would make the game feel a lot more realistic.
