WWE 2K19: 10 Awesome Features That Must Return

7. Special Referee Matches

Generally, 2K18 could have done with a bit more incentive for players to buddy up with a friend and play multiplayer matches.

2K seem to have missed the point with co-operative play. Sure, some people enjoy going head-to-head and trying to win against strangers online, but a lot of folks would rather muck around with a mate, exploit the gameplay and see all the cool stuff the game has to offer. Special Referee matches go hand-in-hand with that sort of behaviour.

Having a third friend to ensure the rules are enforced (or randomly attacking someone in the match for a laugh) is the kind of fun nonsense 2K19 should include. It's an excuse to play exhibition matches and allows players to come up with their own drama, if nothing else.

Plus, if 2K are going to keep Universe Mode around, they could use Special Referee situations as a simple plot device to further a few rivalries in-game.
