WWE 2K19: 10 Biggest Fears Hardcore Fans Have
4. 2K Will Go Deeper Into Simulation Territory
A lot of that boredom is because 2K apparently adore the idea of simulation.
That's fine, video games can have sim-style elements to entrench them in reality at certain points. Again though, as mentioned during the Create-A-Finisher entry, this should not come at the expense of player fun. Video games, whether more "real" than they were in bygone eras, are still pure entertainment after all.
2K's dedication to slowing the gameplay down to a snail's pace so they can better replicate how matches play out on television is a nifty idea in practice, but it's a flawed one in execution. In 2K18, matches played out a little too slowly, to the point that any sense of urgency veterans had enjoyed in prior titles was completely lost.
If the developers are so high on their own vision for what the series should be out of the box that they can't fathom a quicker pace, then they should at least include a slider to change how fast characters move around the ring.
