WWE 2K19: 10 Leading Contenders To Be Cover Star

6. John Cena

OK, so the intro to this piece did say that 2K should move away from using legends on the cover art.

That was The Undertaker though, not John Cena. Even if 'Taker does return to the ring for a one-off match against Cena at WrestleMania 34, the fact remains that he's not a full-time member of the current roster. Cena, lengthy lay-offs, outside projects and all, is still considered part of the regular crew by WWE, so there's no harm in using him here.

Although Cena was chosen for the 2K15 box art just four years ago, he could make his final cover appearance in 2K19 and coincide with the return of the 2K Showcase mode. Just like Steve Austin in 2K16, Cena's entire career would be laid out in this mode, allowing WWE to celebrate all his big moments.

You know where we're going here. Cena will win his record-breaking 17th World Title in 2018, and that victory would be the focal point of his Showcase. Throw in all 16 of his previous triumphs and you already have a fully-fleshed career retrospective.
