WWE 2K20: 10 Biggest Fears Hardcore Fans Have

3. GM Only Has Soft Integration Into Universe Mode

Oh God, it could be worse?

Yes, it could. The fear here is that 2K will integrate some parts of GM Mode into Universe and amalgamate both into some sort of "super mode". This is achievable, which is worrying, and it's not impossible to see players assuming soft control of Raw, SmackDown or NXT as a nameless, faceless authority figure.

In other words, little would change outside of the initial set up. Once gamers have picked their brand, they'd plough through Universe with one show instead of them all. Sounds thrilling. Not. It would lose the essence of what made GM Mode proud in the older games too, because they relied on that 'Us vs. The World' atmosphere.

By integrating GM into Universe with minor effort, 2K would be spitting on fan wishlists and laughing all the way to the bank. A dedicated standalone General Manager feature is way more desirable than some soft-centred surrogate of Universe.
