WWE 2K20: 10 Reasons To Be Worried

3. Commentary Seems To Be The Same

To that point, commentary may still be one of the game's biggest failings.

In the two entrance reveals 2K posted for Samoa Joe and Buddy Murphy, Michael Cole, Corey Graves and Byron Saxton did trade some nice lines putting the characters on screen into context; they're basic, but they're nice to hear, and there's no denying they add to the immersion.

The issue here is that any immersion is shattered when Cole then busts out a line blatantly recorded for a tag-team entrance instead of a singles star. During Murphy's cut scene, the 'Voice Of WWE' offers something to the effect of, 'These guys look like they're ready for this match'. It's ill-fitting and more than a bit annoying to see the same announcing mistakes made all over again.

It's similarly poor that 2K can't pull more energetic performances from the commentary team. They never sound like they're recording their lines in sequence, which leaves Graves' sour replies to Byron's innocent excitement sounding a bit off. At this rate, 2K would be best off removing commentary altogether.
