WWE 2K20: 10 Things To Know Before You Buy
5. Some Controls Have Been Remapped
When 2K added a simplified control scheme for young children into their games a while back, this writer applauded. That seemed like a logical step that'd make WWE titles more fun for parents playing with their kids, or help those who couldn't wrap their heads around all the contextual actions required to squeeze the most from 2K.
This year, they've reworked some of the controls with a view to "reducing friction and the likelihood that players will perform the wrong action". Hmm. Whilst the controls could be finicky, this wasn't the most pressing of concerns before 2K20 launched, and it sounds a bit like meddling to distract from other problems.
Any control issues had more to do with animation lag or character/evironmental glitching.
Reversals are now mapped to a different button, object pick ups and climbing are on separate buttons now, and that's about it besides from some other doubling up elsewhere. It'll be interesting to see if 2K add in the option to switch back to the old control scheme for those who liked it.
