WWE 2K20: 10 Tiny Details 2K Must Add

9. #1 Contender Matches

Another bone of contention with Universe in 2K19 is that there's no real emphasis put on who's challenging for what titles. Specifically, how they became the top contenders for those belts in the first place. Again, this isn't in step with WWE's product. There, #1 contender matches (or at least the competitiveness of who's challenging champs) is an ongoing concern.

Not so in 2K's playground.

We want to have offshoot feuds centred around who's next in line for title opportunities. It's a simple concept, and it's one that'd make the Universe feel more natural without much effort. Surely, having AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura (for example) battle it out for the right to face WWE Champ Daniel Bryan at an upcoming pay-per-view makes sense.

2K already have a contendership ladder, so this isn't revolutionary stuff. All they'd need to do is acknowledge the two wrestlers atop the rankings and make them battle it out if they stay there for a couple of weeks.
