Transparency is also advisable for 2K, because it's definitely something they didn't harness last year. Instead of being upfront and honest about the difficulties of Yuke's leaving, the company decided to enlist VC and scramble to make deadlines. That made 2K20 a buggy, glitching f*ck up of a title.

Fans will forgive sub-par graphics if the game runs smoothly and isn't buggier than the cast of Antz. When one analyses feedback on 2K20, it's clear to see that most folks were cut up about the way characters would clip through the ropes, ring and each other far more than they were about some of the dodgy-looking graphics.

They weren't great up close, but they were serviceable during matches. Again, had 2K and VC been open about the challenges facing them, then they might have rallied some troops behind them. They were fighting an uphill battle, and it's one they made harder for themselves.
