WWE 2K21 Early Wishlist: 10 Things Fans DEMAND

1. A Complete Rebrand

WWE 2K20 did perhaps irreparable damage to the annual release cycle of 2K's wrestling games. The '2K' numbered prefix now carries the same kind of baggage 'SmackDown vs. Raw' did before THQ rebranded the franchise with WWE '12 in 2011. It's plain boring to read, and that red logo needs to beat it.

At this stage, reminding fans that it's only been 12 months since the last entry isn't a good thing.

The '2KXX' name comes with negative connotations now that 2K20 has p*ssed credibility up against a nearby wall. Much like the late, great Owen Hart once shouted, "Enough is enough, and it's time for a change". There are certainly worse ideas for 2K next year than establishing a new name for the series and highlighting core gameplay, graphical and feature set ideas.

'WWE Evolution' and 'WWE 2K TakeOver' (if they must keep the dev team's name in there) are two suggestions that spring to mind. Alternatively, they might prefer to reboot the old SmackDown classic, or name the game after a pay-per-view like WrestleMania. Who knows, but the year-based tag seems played out now.
