WWE 2K22: 10 Hands On First Impressions You Need To Know
6. No Reversal Limits = Awesome
Matches in 2K20, as they did in countless WWE games before that, often boiled down to a game of, 'Who has the most reversals in stock?'. If you didn't use them up early on, then you'd have reversals in store for the most critical moments and would probably come out on top.
2K decided to change that in 2K22.
There are no reversal limits in the new game. That opens things up a lot by letting everyone counter strikes, grapples, signatures and even finishers whenever they like. This, naturally, could be frustrating if you're up against someone who has the timing down to a fine art, but it's definitely better than having no chance to reverse yourself due to some bullsh*t 'three and out' mechanic.
Matches might be reversal-heavy amongst skilled players, but they flow much more realistically than they did previously in older titles. Honing one's skills over time trumps being forced to have limited stock on this occasion.
