WWE 2K22: 10 Improvements On 2K20 You Need To Know About
9. No Reversal Limitations
They've deleted the old reversal counters too.
2K decided to replace those limitations with "breakers". That name incorporates both blocks and dodges under the one umbrella, and you can pull off as many as you like. The trade off is that reversals are now instantly harder to pull off than before by default.
The theory behind this is that matches became more about forcing opponents to burn through their remaining reversals before hitting a match-winning finisher. That was an instant loss if you didn't have any reversals left, which naturally sucked and made for a frustrating experience (instinctively blocking/reversing even the smallest of moves early on punished players).
Matches should flow better in 2K22.
Some may point out that more skilled gamers will be able to reverse everything, but 2K don't see that happening. They're confident that the new reversal windows balance skill with luck, and say finishers will still be harder to counter than regular moves/strikes.
