WWE 2K22: 10 Most Anticipated Changes Fans Need To See
8. Quicker Gameplay
Chain grappling and slowly working over limbs pre-submission might work in real-life pro wrestling, but it's poorly implemented in 2K's world. Both features slow the gameplay to a crawl, and mean one could probs brew a cuppa' in between animations.
This can be remedied by speeding things up a tick and giving 2K22's gameplay some zip. 2K might want to study the stunning Fire Pro series to see how that's done; Spike Chunsoft successfully married the nuances of how wrestling matches work with speed in Fire Pro World, and the result was spectacular.
It's also fun, which 2K's series isn't. Honestly, how many people can say they've had oodles of fun playing a WWE game over the past five years or so (maybe longer)? It's like the dev team purposely sapped that out of the experience and focused on po-faced simulation instead.
Speed it up and watch those smiles appear.
