7. Simplified Controls

This goes hand-in-hand with the previous point.

Patrick Gilmore said during his Reddit AMA that 2K wanted to build a new "philosophical foundation" for their series starting with 2K22. Basically, the team know their current control scheme is far too convoluted, and they're aware that puts some gamers off.

This isn't a kid issue either - yours truly is 33 years old, and he has a hard time remembering all of the contextual button prompts for certain actions in 2K20. That's crap, and it again saps fun out of the gameplay experience. What good is being able to stack tables when putting together your shopping list is arguably just as enjoyable?

2K would be doing everyone a huge favour by dumbing down the controls, removing so much emphasis on context and making the biggest spots easiest to achieve. There's no need for things to be so busy or complex.
