WWE 2K22: 10 Most Anticipated Changes Fans Need To See
3. A WWE Superstar Career Mode
Nobody at 2K will enjoy reading this, but their CAW-charged Career Mode is nowhere near as fun as THQ's old WWE Superstar-led ones. Back then, picking a humble midcarder, starting on Sunday Night Heat and building their career through title wins and big storylines was a pure joy.
Again, it's confusing that 2K don't do more of that now.
SmackDown 2: Know Your Role clearly wasn't perfect, but it allowed gamers to pick anyone on the pecking order they damn well pleased and watch massive set pieces play out. Steve Austin destroyed DX's bus, Vince McMahon was a card-changing d*ck and more - it was top class stuff, but it's totally absent in latter WWE games.
Why is it so hard to grasp the idea that fans might want to live vicariously through their on screen favourites rather than create some ham-and-egger who runs through an underdog story? Sometimes, being the champ from the outset is more fun than the long-winded journey.
