Or, why not include some sort of 'Create-A-Brand' feature?
Although Universe Mode isn't the best, it does enable gamers to live out WWE vs. WCW, WWE vs. AEW or WWE vs. New Japan scenarios. A little patience goes a long way when setting all that up, but Community Creations has made it possible. That's been a blessing to this long-suffering series.
If WWE are funny about generic, pre-made promotions (they shouldn't be, but you never know), then 2K could stick to company-owed trademarks like WCW, ECW etc. Alternatively, they could just let players concoct their own shows and run them against Raw, SmackDown and the like.
Building a brand from the ground up is something WWE games have teased in the past, albeit with one single wrestler; MyCareer incorporated independent work before your avatar reached the big time in recent entries. Maybe something along those lines would put a fresh spin on GM Mode, and push creativity. It'd certainly give each save some individuality.
