WWE 2K22: 10 Things GM Mode Must Get Right

4. The Length

Finite timescale > endless.

To explain, the open-ended Universe Mode in recent 2K titles is a bit generic. Major moments are drip fed rather than occurring consistently, and that can make the whole experience rather drawn out and redundant after a while. In 2K22, the new GM Mode would be better off on the clock.

If it lasts for, say, two in-game years, then GM will be better fleshed-out. Having a full 12 months of programming to ease yourself into what's expected, and then using the second year to crush the competition, sounds like one hell of a good time. One, like fans saw in prior GMs, just isn't quite long enough.

2K shouldn't be too ambitious with the length of the mode either. Something that lasts 10-15 years could drag, and it's not like things would differ too much year-on-year anyway. Nah, keep it tightly focused and encourage a complete restart once Raw, SmackDown, NXT, NXT UK or a custom fed has been completed.
