Boot up creaking classic Skyrim and you'll be met with numerous character presets that decide how some characters in the world react to your presence. That game launched in 2011, so 2K really don't have an excuse not to include something similar in WWE 2K22.

Nobody's suggesting that a talking feline (Geek Alert: Khajiit in Elder Scrolls) would fit into the pro wrestling universe, but at least have some solid presets that makes playing through as other types viable. Indy wrestling stand out, ex-football player trying wrestling for the first time, reality TV star who has heat on them backstage, fitness model with zero experience etc.

The story could then hinge on your character's lore. The reality star, based on The Miz, would face different obstacles to the already-respected NFL incomer - that's the sort of thing MyCareer needs. It's pure variety, and that's what story modes should be about.
