WWE 2K22: 10 Ways To Save MyCareer Mode

2. Lean Less On RPG Elements

Dear God, that skill tree in 2K20 was stressful.

The layout was a bit all over the place, and a lot of the skills didn't seem to be necessary to get through the MyCareer mode at all. It's like 2K only include these RPG elements because they think people would complain if they didn't. Would they? Would they though?

Paper-thin levelling up is no substitute for meaningful character progression. Come 2K22, the team should focus their collective energy on ensuring that the actual stories gamers work through are the meat on the bone of MyCareer. Gaining EXP and then trading it for the ability to put one's feet on the ropes during pin attempts isn't a fair trade off for that.

Skill trees work in most RPG adventure games, and they're even solid enough for EA Sports' UFC series. Pro wrestling is more about narrative and characterisation than physical attributes people use in real fights though.

Just saying.
