WWE 2K23: 10 Reasons To Be REALLY Excited

6. Showcase Mode Will Get It Right

Was Rey Mysterio's Showcase exhaustive? Hardly. In fact, being brutally honest, it was a minor disappointment in an otherwise-solid suite of 2K22 features. Gameplay and overall feel was fine, but the match choices sucked and that's something the team should address for the next one in 2K23.

That's true whether Edge, Roman Reigns, John Cena, Brock Lesnar, Lita, Becky Lynch or literally any other superstar ends up being the mode's focal point. Fans expect to play through the biggest and best matches from these careers, and they don't want any of that bizarre low-rent business like Mysterio got vs. Gran Metalik.

No offence intended to the ex-Lucha House Party man.

An Edge Showcase needs to take in bouts from 1998-2022. There are no ifs, buts or maybes allowed here. Players will want to experience the full range of 'Rated-R' goodness, and that's just the way it is. If 2K can't offer that, then pick somebody else to spotlight.

This guy has faith they'll nail it though.
