WWE 2K23: 10 Rumours You Need To Know
1. It’ll Be The Last WWE 2K Game?!
Fightful Select reported this past March that WWE chiefs met with top brass from EA with a view to shifting the video game licence over to EA Sports. That, admittedly, happened just before 2K22 exceeded expectations and won back some goodwill for 2K's battered reputation.
People still think there's a chance WWE will jump in the future.
If the company remains interested in shopping the license around, then 2K23 could very well be it for 2K as the head developers. They've been large and in charge since taking over from THQ in 2013, but everything comes to an end eventually. 2K has had a good run anyway, let's be honest.
EA recently split from FIFA and will produce their own-in house football sim from next year onwards. Would the WWE license make up for that? No, not really, but that also doesn't mean EA Sports wouldn't be interested in securing it.
