WWE 2K24: 10 Changes From 2K23 That Must Happen
4. Less Restrictive Showcase Goals?
Clearly, a lot of effort goes into building the Showcase Mode every year. That’s admirable, but it’s definitely one of the most restrictive modes in WWE games these days. John Cena’s one in 2K23 offered an interesting twist by playing as his opponents, to be fair. Maybe it's time for other changes though.
Simplifying the objectives for each match could make things more fun. Tasking gamers with completing three or four major goals rather than scripting out every single part of the bout would remove some of that, 'cause there's defo a sense that Showcase turns into some frantic bid to learn contextual controls that may/may not have been explained.
Is that too whiny? Could be.
Yes, 2K wants to stay true to the real matches, but most gamers would forgive inaccuracies here or there if they were more fun to play. Perhaps mid-match checkpoints would remedy this, thus eliminating the need to start bouts from scratch.
